Asheville, North Carolina

We are staying at East Asheville KOA. This is our second night and we leave tomorrow for a two day drive to Washington, DC.
Today we ate breakfast in Downtown Asheville at The Early Girl Cafe. I got my haircut and we went to the Farmers Market. We drove the Blue Ridge Parkway to The Pisgah Inn for lunch.
The weather is much cooler here. At the top of the mountain it was 43 degrees and hailing.

It's been a little over a month since we started our adventure. And we were talking about how it has been so far. We decided we were grateful that we have has no injuries or vehicle breakdowns. We decided we could each do any of the jobs required to keep us going. Things like hooking up to shore power or finding diesel fuel stations. The best meal we had was on Mustang Island, Texas. We had the Mother's Day pork tacos. We had some really exceptional bread in Pensacola Beach at Flounders Restaurant with "The Anon Travelers". We liked the free laundry and air conditioned clean bathrooms at Bayou Segnette State Park, Louisiana. We also liked the airboat ride near there.
Mostly we are both grateful we can do this adventure.
The picture is of a whirley gig that reminded me of my RV friends in San Diego, especially Suanne.

  1. I went to the Farmers Market in Ashville & bought a couple of slices of some kind of ham they're known for but, unbeknownst to me, it was uncooked & made a terrible sandwich. I did a similar thing in Grrmany w/bacon.
