May 11, 2015 Galveston, Texas

We stayed last night at Mustang Island State Park and it was hot and windy. The van was rocking back and forth all night long with the strong winds.

Yesterday afternoon we ate dinner at Texas Mesquite BBQ In Downtown Mustang Island.  We had The Mother's Day special that was pork tacos and they were quite possibly the best tacos I have ever eaten. Judy had some too and she agreed that they were the best.

Today it's hot again and we are traveling along the Gulf Coast headed towards Galveston. We are  trying to beat the storms. We are camping at Galveston State Park. There is a danger of flash flooding and lighting storms. We may get up to 2 inches of rainfall. The sea water is brown and all churned up from the storms. The waves are small when compared to California, but there are a lot more of them. The sea shore looks like it could be a large lake because of the numerous small waves.

Judy took pictures of houses on stilts. They reminded me of those houses on the television series Beach Front Bargain Hunt. In my opinion there is a reason the houses are so inexpensive/bargain. That reason being who would want to live here? Lots of people do, but I wouldn't want to live here.

  1. Those "stilt" houses are in the same price range as the house you just sold! Lots of people love the Gulf of Mexico, including me. Keep fhe photos and commentary coming.
